Volumes Up
Volumes Up is a love letter to independent music and the venues refusing to die quietly
We’ve been to so many great venues over our time filming season 1. Too many to include in this exhibition. What I did want to highlight was the amazing people that have been working behind the scenes to capture some amazing footage.
Channelle, our producer takes center stage, our crew Keisha and Clara filled in as stand in models for some portait setups at Lazybones lounge and wound up looking absolutely fabulous.
Howard is a master of telling stories through the eye of the camera, and I caught him hard at work during our Sydney Uni tunnel session, as well as a fantastic portrait mid shoot at Lazybones. Somewhere between Monico and suitcase.cult
Andre has been fantastic in front of the camera shown here with artist manager Criag.
Chanelle demands (in the best way) to be photographed when she comes to events looking a million dollars so I had to do a quick session by the piano at Lazybones. Not the last time I will use that spot. It’s in a few shots around here.
Lilly was a last minute crew addition who brought some much needed helping hands that occasionally through some attitude my way as well. But I love it!
Special mention two people who are the heart and soul of Volumes Up.
Temmah is our primary camera operator and person who keeps us all in line.
Finally, Sean our fearless leader, making stories that no one else will make and sending me run sheets and posters and promos at all hours of the day and night. He made most of this possible. He finds people, empowers them and creates amazing results.
Channelle our wonderful Producer and Presenter
Being involved with Volumes Up I’ve stopped needing a social life. I get a message from Sean, “can you come to this gig” and my schedule is planned. I’ve been to Newtown bars, under the Harbour Bridge, into graffiti tunnels and Sunday mornings outside of the QVB.
