Discover More Artists

I love being able to showcase some amazing artists. There are still more to share with you that even I haven’t had enough of an opportunity to capture through my lens. But I’ve included just a few shots to tease you into discovering more of our amazing local music scene.

Each of these artists is creating amazing original music while juggling day jobs, bills and the cost of making music, so I’m so excited to share as many of them as I can with you.

  • Aimme Claire - singer-songwriter extraordinaire, featured as part of Season 1 of Volumes Up

  • yawdoesitall - the Ghanian/Australian rapper and producer who I’m convinced is just musical down to his bones. Multiple colabs, including supporting all kinds of artists including Devaura in their work.

  • 3rd CultureKid - a rapper creating amazing original tracks who I found just trying to get his music out while on the street

  • Sahaja Music - an amazing singer, songwriter and performer

  • Afro Moses - an absolute legend. He came to a suitcase.cult gig in Campsie and sang with the boys for a song or two. The whole venue was in absolute awe. Talk about owning a room.

  • jaqviolinist - Playing on the street as much as possible, even through the strict new regulations. They almost killed busking and when I went out to see if anyone was still around, Jacqueline was there playing as always. Seeing her out there in the midst of all of that uncertainty made me feel like that busking community hadn’t just fallen apart.

  • ulamusic - Live streaming singer-songwriter, always out and about on a sunny Sydney afternoon around QVB or Townhall. I should also mention TikTok award-winning artist. A beautiful voice, always ready with a smile. This pic is from a live stream during a cold winter night during Vivid

Sydney is bursting with amazing local talent. There are artists I love but haven’t been able to include this time around.

Get out to gigs, find local artists. Discover amazing live music beyond the chain pubs. In the little spaces, the independent stages.

Support those artists. Interact with them online, stream their music, share them with your friends. Give them all the likes and shares and comments you can, so that when they go from performing on stage at night to the early morning day jobs, they know you appreciate all the hardwork they’ve put in.
